This page exists so you can judge two things before trusting a tool with your work: that it is actually maintained, and what changed when. Every entry below shipped to the live site on the date shown. Nothing is announced here that is not live.

29 September 2026 — delivery-grade QC pass

One-click fix for mechanical problems. Overlaps, negative durations, gaps below two frames, over-long cues and reading-speed overruns are repaired in a fixed order (delete empty cues → sort → re-wrap lines → re-time → CPS fallback). When shortening the previous cue would make it unreadable, the following cue is moved instead — time is never stolen from text that needs it.
Nothing that changes your words is ever applied automatically. Text edits are reported for you to decide on, never silently rewritten.
Delivery panel with a before/after comparison, the action taken per cue, and a separate list of the items that need human judgement.
Delivery package: every open file plus a report as one ZIP.
Reports in TXT, CSV and JSON — for one file or the whole batch.
TTML / iTT read and write, including the three timestamp notations; a missing ttp:frameRate is reported as a warning rather than guessed at.
Vertical-video safe-area preview (9:16 and friends): caption position and width measured against the safe area, graded rather than pass/fail.
Four more single-purpose pages: bilingual merge, CPS calculator, SRT ⇄ TTML/iTT, YouTube chapters.

28 September 2026 — on sale

Pro licences went live: $9 once, lifetime, up to 3 devices. Creem handles payment as merchant of record, so card details never reach this site.
Refund policy set out in plain words: full refund within 7 days while the key is unactivated; an activated licence is not refundable except where the software is faulty and we cannot fix it.
Checkout asks for the EU/UK withdrawal waiver explicitly, because a digital licence delivered immediately is not covered by the usual 14-day cooling-off period.
Refund wording made identical everywhere: checkout, product page, refund policy.
First four single-purpose pages, each with its own tool and its own reference data: shift SRT timestamps, FPS converter, guideline checker, SRT ⇄ VTT.

27 September 2026 — public structure

Two-site structure: an umbrella index at glocalwhale.com and the tool on its own subdomain, so a tool can be replaced or retired without touching the other.
Privacy, terms, refund and contact pages published; support address moved to a branded mailbox on our own domain.
Pricing section added to the front page: what stays free, what the one-time licence adds.
Cache-safety work: every script and stylesheet is referenced with a content hash, including module-to-module imports, so a change can never be served half-old.
Indexing pipeline: IndexNow submission, sitemap, and a licence-check endpoint on our own domain (the only server-side code this product has).

25–26 September 2026 — first working build

Parsing and writing for SRT, WebVTT and ASS, with encoding detection (UTF-8, UTF-8 with BOM, UTF-16, GBK) and a warning rather than a guess when a file is ambiguous.
Timeline operations: shift the whole file by a fixed offset, stretch or compress by a ratio, re-time between 23.976 / 24 / 25 / 29.97 / 30 / 59.94 fps.
Guideline checks over the whole file: characters per line, characters per second, minimum and maximum duration, line count, overlaps, out-of-order cues, short gaps.
Everything runs in the browser: files are never uploaded, and the studio keeps working with the network disconnected.
Deployed to Cloudflare; no account system and no database.
